TC launch International Football Academy

Posted: 20th March 2026

Tettenhall College is delighted to announce the launch of its new International Football Academy, developed in partnership with Wolverhampton Wanderers FC and All Stars Sports Coaching. The programme, which will begin in September 2026, will be open to both local day pupils and international boarding pupils and will combine high-level football training with the outstanding academic education offered at the College.

The International Football Academy has been designed to support talented young footballers, both boys and girls, by providing professional-level coaching while ensuring pupils continue to thrive academically. The initiative reflects Tettenhall College’s commitment to nurturing pupils’ individual talents and providing opportunities that support both personal and professional aspirations.

The close proximity of the two institutions further strengthens this collaboration. Tettenhall College is located just a 10-minute drive from Molineux Stadium and under seven minutes from Wolves’ training ground at Compton Park. In fact, the College’s boarding houses overlook the training ground, highlighting the strong connection between the College and the football club.

The programme will offer three development pathways tailored to different age groups:

  • Elite Pathway – for pupils in Years 11–13
  • Academy Pathway – for pupils in Years 6–10
  • Development Pathway – for pupils in Years 3–5

Pupils enrolled in the programme will benefit from a comprehensive training structure that includes sessions led by UEFA-qualified coaches, weekly training and competitive fixtures, regular opportunities to train at the Wolves training ground, strength and conditioning programmes, physiotherapy and recovery sessions, and personalised development plans with regular performance reviews. Pupils will also have the opportunity to work towards UK and US university pathway programmes, helping them combine sporting ambition with academic achievement.

Chris McAllister, Headmaster at Tettenhall College, said: “We are delighted to be launching the Tettenhall College International Football Academy Programme. Partnering with Wolverhampton Wanderers and All Stars Sports Coaching brings a new level of expertise and opportunity for our pupils. This initiative creates exciting prospects for talented young footballers who will benefit from high standards of training and coaching while experiencing the excellence of a Tettenhall College education.”

“Working with a Premier League club ensures that pupils on this programme maintain a meaningful connection to the professional game. They will experience an environment that reflects the expectations, values and standards of professional football, supporting both their sporting and personal development.”

The partnership also celebrates the shared heritage of two long-established institutions that play an important role in the history of Wolverhampton and the wider West Midlands. Founded in 1863, Tettenhall College has a long-standing tradition of academic excellence and personal development. Just fourteen years later, in 1877, Wolverhampton Wanderers was established and went on to become a founding member of the Football League.

The launch of the International Football Academy Programme marks an exciting new chapter for Tettenhall College, offering aspiring young footballers the opportunity to develop their talent in a professional environment while benefiting from a high-quality education and supportive school community.

This programme is exclusively for pupils enrolled as full day or boarding students at Tettenhall College.
