International Pupils

Tettenhall College has a very long and proud history of welcoming pupils from around the globe. International pupils make up a small proportion of the children studying here at Tettenhall College, however they contribute to making the College the inclusive, diverse and cosmopolitan place of learning that it is.

We understand that selecting a school when you are overseas poses its own challenges, which is why we work hard to ensure overseas pupils and parents have all the information you need to help them make the correct decision.

We are happy to welcome visits from our international families, however we realise this is not always an option. Therefore we are happy to host a visit from a friend or relative you may have living in the UK, alternatively the Headmaster and members of his team do travel overseas to various countries each year and are happy to meet with pupils and their families during these trips.

We can also use video calls to speak to families directly and answer any questions they may have. We also welcome children who may want to join us for a shorter term to improve their English and gain life experience. We find it is particularly popular with European children to take a year out of their own education system to spend it here at Tettenhall College as it can be very beneficial for university applications.

Choosing to study in the UK can be daunting, especially when you are so far away but we offer support and advice along the way to make the process as easy as possible.

Entry Criteria

Children wishing to apply for a place at Tettenhall College can contact us directly or via an Educational Agent in their country who has an agreement with us.

We will need to assess an individual’s ability to access the curriculum at Tettenhall College so would ask that pupils complete a Maths and English assessment; these give us a clearer indication on whether a child could cope with the work required of them. We also request a handwritten application essay, which explains why they would like to come and study at Tettenhall College. We also request copies of school reports and arrange for a video interview with the Headmaster before a place is offered.
