Christopher McAllister

Headmaster

Christopher McAllister has 25 years’ experience in the education sector, with over 10 years of senior leadership in HMC and thriving ISA day and boarding schools in the UK. His strong belief in the growth and development of the whole child, as a global citizen, was forged early in his career, teaching in West Africa, after graduating from Leeds University. As a Head of Philosophy, he piloted the Cambridge Pre-U as an academically stretching alternative to A Levels, before their latest reforms. He also spent time working as an Oxbridge coach. His passion for curriculum development and academic excellence has remained constant. The need to challenge and develop each child to the best of their abilities and strengths is central to his educational philosophy. As Headmaster of Tettenhall College since January 2020, Christopher has led the growth and development of this thriving co-educational, independent, day and boarding school. The College’s boarding facilities have recently been expanded and fully refurbished as well as sustained development of the College’s heritage buildings and academic facilities for learners of all ages.

Outside of school, Christopher relishes any opportunity to combine his passion for travel and good food, and loves every chance to host friends and family.
