Towers Renovation

The College is delighted to announce that generous funds have been secured to begin the restoration of the Towers building at Tettenhall College.  The funding, in excess of £2,250,000 will finance the complete re-roofing of the building.

This begins the process of the renovation of the interior of the Towers Building.  Towers is not only a unique piece of the nation’s architectural heritage, it is also a hugely important part of the academic, cultural and social life of the College for pupils, parents, staff and OTs.

Work has already begun and excellent progress has been made on this large infrastructure project.  Protecting the heritage of Tettenhall College while nurturing the growth of our current Tettenhallians and future OTs is a central aim of the College.

The careful restoration of our historical buildings which mean so much to OTs, current pupils and ‘Friends of TC’ is a development we like to keep everyone up to date on.  To see our latest update on the Towers restoration click on the links below.  If you would like to personally support the next stages of this project here is where you can find out more:

The careful restoration of the interior of Towers, for the benefit of current and future Tettenhallians is part of the planned growth of the College.  In recent years the College roll has increased to over 500.  A gift of £25,000 would provide for the complete refurbishment of a room in Colonel Thorneycroft’s beloved Towers and return a classroom to use for our young learners of today.  As the sponsor, your room would be named after you, or a person you wish to be remembered, in this way.

N.B.  The nominee of the sponsor will have their name displayed within the room or immediately outside, on the door or a heritage giving wall within Towers.  If a sponsor wishes to remain anonymous, this will be fully respected.

Sponsor your part of the Towers restoration – Generations of Tettenhallians have studied, played and lived within the walls of Towers.  If you wish to sponsor any of the following parts of the restoration project please click on the links below:

A donation of £1,900 would supply and fit a door to a classroom or learning area within Towers.

Following the renovation of Tettenhall Towers, our next heritage preservation project is the College swimming pool, dating from 1876.  The pool will soon be due for a full re-lining, at an estimated cost of £95,000.   At the same time the changing rooms will be due for refurbishment at a cost of £65,000.  The refurbishment of the poolside areas will also require an estimated £55,000.
