While we have high-achieving pupils who compete at top levels, our sports programme is designed to ensure that every pupil can grow, be challenged and excel. Our pupils benefit from outstanding sporting facilities and a diverse range of sports. From traditional games like football, cricket, netball, hockey and rugby, we also offer fencing, basketball, badminton, squash and emerging activities such as pickleball and climbing to name but a few. Each sport has been carefully selected to challenge students physically and mentally, providing a broad spectrum of skills and experiences.
Our inclusive programme is designed for everyone. Our aim is to encourage pupils to find a sporting activity they love and to provide a basis for life-long fitness and participation. Sport is played in formal lessons at least three times a week, and our house system offers a wide range of sports in which all our pupils can compete. The role of team captain is an excellent opportunity to develop leadership skills and to contribute to the life of the school. The opportunity to represent the school in sport is one that is highly valued.
We feel it is important for all children to be able to swim. We are fortunate to have our own on-site pool. Children from Reception upwards have swimming lessons, and our Swimming Academy runs training sessions prior to the start of school three times a week for our stronger swimmers.
Our PE and sports curriculum goes beyond playing games; it’s about building a healthier and fitter community. We focus on physical education that promotes fitness, healthy eating, and mental well-being. Our curriculum emphasises the importance of a balanced lifestyle, which includes proper nutrition and regular physical activity.
To support our students’ journey, we have a team of dedicated coaches and staff who will guide, teach, and cheer them on every step of the way. We also offer workshops and seminars on topics such as injury prevention, sports psychology, and nutrition.
For our most gifted athletes, scholarship support is available to help balance time between school and professional clubs. Our scholarship programme provides advanced training and competition opportunities to help students reach their highest potential.
