Mayor of the West Midlands, Andy Street joined pupils, parents, staff, and members of the TC community for the historic and prestigious event, Speech Day. This annual tradition aims to embrace, congratulate, and publicly acknowledge the exceptional talents and efforts of the pupils as they thrive in their academic and personal pursuits.
Andy Street addressed pupils, sharing his own educational experiences and valuable insights on how learning has shaped his life which was a great inspiration for pupils as they embark on their next steps in their educational journey.
Mr Street said: “I am delighted to have participated in celebrating the 160-year anniversary of Tettenhall College. The day has been truly exceptional highlighting the dedication and accomplishments of the talented pupils. The outstanding work of the school is evident, and I wish all pupils the very best for the future.”
Christopher McAllister, Headmaster of Tettenhall College expressed his enthusiasm about the event. Mr McAllister said: “We are thrilled to have welcomed the Mayor of the West Midlands to Tettenhall College. This provides an excellent opportunity to showcase the values of our school through the remarkable achievements and successes of our pupils in front of the wonderful people that form the TC community.”
Speech Day was one of the many events held as part of Grand Celebration Week 2023, a week of celebrating the 160 year anniversary of Tettenhall College.
