30 hours of funded childcare at Tettenhall College Nursery

Posted: 2nd July 2026

What does the 30 hours of funded childcare at Tettenhall College Nursery mean for your family?

Choosing the right setting for your child’s earliest years is one of the most important decisions a family makes. At Tettenhall College, that decision is now a little easier. The Nursery and Pre-School accept both 15 and 30 hours of funded childcare, helping to make an exceptional independent education accessible from the very beginning.

Understanding funded childcare

Government-funded childcare gives eligible families a set number of free hours each week during term time. The  15 and 30 hours offer is available to many working families with children of qualifying ages. The rules and eligibility bands are set nationally and do change from time to time, so families are always encouraged to check their entitlement on the official Best Start in Life website. You speak to the Admissions team about how the hours apply at Tettenhall College.

What matters most is the practical difference it makes. Funded hours can significantly reduce the weekly cost of high-quality early years care. More families can give their child the kind of start that lays strong foundations for everything that follows.

More than a nursery place

Plenty of settings accept funded hours. What sets Tettenhall College apart is what those hours buy. Children can join the Nursery from their second birthday and progress naturally into Pre-School, then into Reception, all within one warm and familiar community. There is no anxious hunt for a new school at age four, because the next step is already part of the family.

The setting itself is something rather special. Alongside bright, well-resourced classrooms, children explore beautiful outdoor woodlands, learning through play in a way that builds curiosity, confidence and independence.  They have access to a beautiful school library, a Victorian theatre, sports pitches and more. As they move into Pre-School, weekly swimming lessons begin in the school’s own on-site pool, and a daily walk up to the College dining room turns sharing a meal with friends into a gentle lesson in community and belonging.

This blend of nurture and opportunity has been recognised independently. The most recent ISI report described the contribution of the early years provision to children’s well-being as outstanding, and families consistently rate the Nursery highly, awarding it a perfect score on the leading review site Daynurseries.

A flexible start that fits real family life

Every family is different, which is why attendance is flexible. Days and sessions are agreed when your child enrols, however a minimum of two full days and one half-day each week is recommended to ensure your child settles in. Before your child starts, a relaxed welcome session gives them time to play and settle, while staff spend one-to-one time getting to know your family and recording the milestones that make your child unique.
