Every year we hold many events for pupils looking to join Tettenhall College.

Whole School Open Day – Saturday 24th April 2027

Step into the heart of Tettenhall College and experience a day designed to inspire, excite and inform. Our  Whole School Open Day is your opportunity to explore our beautiful 33-acre campus, our wonderful facilities and our vibrant community.

You’ll enjoy a guided tour by our pupils, meet our passionate teachers and get a real taste of the academic and co-curricular opportunities that make life at Tettenhall College so unique. Our Open Days are more than just a visit – it’s a hands-on interactive experience.

For our youngest visitors to our Nursery and Preparatory School, there will be fun interactive activities ranging from art attack sessions to magical woodland trails, from creative writing to maths mystery and so much more.

For pupils considering the significant move to Senior School or Sixth Form, they will experience engaging taster lessons alongside subject specialists, lively performing arts & music sessions, sports tasters in our impressive sports facilities plus many more immersive activities designed to give a glimpse of school life.

If you are interested in the brilliant boarding at Tettenhall College, this is your opportunity to be shown around our spectacular boarding facilities – a home away from home for every pupil.

At the end of the day, we invite all families to stay and enjoy lunch with us, alongside the Headmaster, leadership team and many of our teachers.

Nursery & Pre-School Stay and Play Sessions

Sessions are a wonderful opportunity for families looking for a Nursery setting to experience life in our nurturing early years environment. Children can enjoy a variety of engaging play and learning activities, while parents and carers have the opportunity to connect with our experienced Early Years team and other families.

Each session is carefully designed to link with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Framework, supporting every area of your child’s development – from communication and physical skills to creativity, confidence and emotional growth.

You and your child will also have the chance to explore the exceptional facilities our children in nursery use including our beautiful woodlands, Victorian theatre, music room and school library. Discover what makes our Nursery and Pre-School truly unique.

Sessions are for children agend 1 – 4 years old. Please note – we accept children into Nursery from the age of 2 years old.

Reception Class Taster Sessions

Taster Sessions are for those children who are looking to join Reception class in September 2027. These 2.5 hour sessions will be the perfect opportunity for your little one to spend time with our experienced team, our current pre-school children who will be in their class next year, and to have time in our classrooms and learning areas. Children are warmly invited to join us for as many of these sessions as they would like, to help ensure they feel comfortable and familiar here at Tettenhall College, and to make their September start as exciting as possible.

We warmly invite your child to attend as many sessions as possible. Taster Sessions will be taking place on:

  • Wednesday 27th January 2027, 9am – 11am
  • Tuesday 9th March 2027, 9am – 11am
  • Friday 14th May 2027, 9am – 11am

Year 7 – 9 Entrance Assessment – Saturday 30th January 2027

Children wishing to join the Senior School at Tettenhall College into Years 7, 8 and 9 for September 2027 will be invited to attend the College Entrance Assessment on Saturday 30th January 2027. For pupils joining the College from outside the UK, please speak with the Admissions Team who will be happy to explain how we complete these assessments remotely.

The Entrance Assessment is a full morning of activities, including the formal academic assessments which are run in conjunction with Cambridge CEM. These include Numeracy, Literacy and Non-Verbal Reasoning.  A series of additional assessment activities will also take place during the morning including a handwritten creative writing task, team participation exercises and other interactive sessions. Once the assessments have been marked, individual offers will then be made.

It is essential that all pupils are registered for the assessments in advance. For families who wish to make a later application, a private assessment may be possible.

Sixth Form

For pupils looking to join Tettenhall College for Sixth Form, we have a series of events taking place throughout the year. Choosing the right Sixth Form is an important decision and we want to ensure familiies have the opportunity to experience all that Tettenhall College Sixth Form offers.

Individual Tours

We encourage everyone to come in and see Tettenhall College first-hand and we are delighted to arrange individual tours for families during the School day. Wherever possible, the Headmaster will be pleased to have an informal meeting with you and your child.  An individual tour is a great way to experience the happy and welcoming atmosphere at Tettenhall College and meet our expert teachers and wonderful pupils.

Taster Days

The next step on the admissions journey is for your child to join us for a Taster Day. This gives them the opportunity to experience a typical day at Tettenhall College, take part in lessons and meet the other children in their year group.

For those little ones hoping to start their learning journey in our Nursery, we arrange for a Welcome session were a ‘play date’ allows them to come and join us whilst their parents can spend time with the experienced team who will be taking very special care of their child.

The taster day is a really important part of the admissions journey and we can arrange these to suit your needs depending on when your child is starting with us.
