The Board of Governors of Tettenhall College are delighted to announce the appointment of Mr Justin Gomersall as the Headmaster of Tettenhall College, effective from September 2026.
Mr Gomersall succeeds Mr Christopher McAllister, who will take up a new Headship at Harrow School Shanghai following more than 6 years of exceptional service to Tettenhall College.
Mr Gomersall, currently serving as Headteacher of Tettenhall College Preparatory School has been a valued member of the College Leadership Team since his appointment in 2022. During his tenure, Mr Gomersall has significantly improved academic outcomes by raising expectations and ensuring that every learner receives the appropriate level of challenge to succeed. He has fostered a rich, values-based learning environment that has deepened the school’s culture, creating a more confident and cohesive community and contributing to rising student numbers.
He brings with him a wealth of experience in the education sector, having held a variety of teaching roles in Science and Physical Education, including at an outstanding day and boarding school in Switzerland. He then progressed into senior leadership positions across both secondary and primary education in both state and independent schools.
A graduate in Marine Biology and Environmental Science, Mr Gomersall studied at Southampton Solent University before completing his Postgraduate Certificate in Education at the University of Winchester.
From September 2026, Mr Gomersall will take up his new role, continuing to build on the strong foundations established by the current leadership team. He will focus on further developing the College while maintaining its distinctive ethos and values. In addition to his extensive professional experience, Mr Gomersall embodies the warmth and values that makes Tettenhall College such a special community. Already well known to many parents, the Tettenhall College community is confident the school will continue to thrive under his leadership.
Reflecting on his appointment, Mr Gomersall said: “I am deeply privileged to be appointed as the new Headmaster at Tettenhall College. Being part of a strong Leadership Team has been an incredibly rewarding experience, and I look forward to leading the College into its next chapter, building on its many strengths and supporting every pupil to achieve their full potential.”
Opportunities for parents and prospective families to meet Mr Gomersall will be arranged ahead of September 2026. This will include the upcoming Whole School Open Day on Saturday 9th May 2026.
