Sports’ Scholar Celebrates Sporting Success

Joe B, Sports’ Scholar at Tettenhall College is an enthusiastic and dedicated young athlete. He has enjoyed remarkable sporting achievements this year, showcasing exceptional talent across multiple disciplines and earning recognition at both national and international levels.

He began with a strong performance at the ISA National Athletics Finals in June, where he competed in the Under-13 1500m. He finished in 8th place overall – a commendable achievement—and was the first boy in the Midlands, marking a significant milestone in his athletics journey.

July proved to be an exceptional month for Joe. He competed in the National Schools Laser Run, delivering an impressive performance that earned him 3rd place and a bronze medal. Remarkably, just 24 hours later, he returned to competition at the Laser Run British Championships, where he showed determination and composure to secure gold.

His success continued into September. Joe competed in the British Target Sprint Championships, finishing in 3rd place. The very next day, he took part in the Biathle of the Roses Under-13 Boys competition, where he powered his way to a 1st-place victory. Later that month, he attended the ID Pentathlon Pathway Day at the University of Bath. Home to Pentathlon GB’s National Training Centre which has produced a host of Olympic, World and European Champions. Following his impressive performance, Joe was officially accepted onto the Talent Development Pathway with Pentathlon GB, marking an exciting step in his long-term sporting journey.

October brought even more achievements. Joe represented Tettenhall College at the ISA Swimming and successfully qualified for the finals at the prestigious London Aquatics Centre. He also travelled to Alanya, Türkiye, to compete in the 2025 European Championships for Biathle, Triathle and Laser Run. This event proved to be a standout moment of his year. Competing against Europe’s top young athletes, he secured:

  • Silver – Laser Run Under-13 Team
  • Silver – Triathle Mixed Relay
  • Silver – Triathle Team

These outstanding results earned him qualification for the World Championships in Mossel Bay, South Africa.

Joe is an exceptional talent whose achievements are a direct result of his hard work, determination and unwavering dedication to his sport. His school and community are immensely proud of his progress and look forward to supporting him further in his future competitions.
