Having fun and raising cash

Posted: 13th March 2016

Tettenhall College has a proud history in supporting both local and international charities. The school has a very passionate and dedicated Charity Committee led by Mrs. Liddle, who plan and organise fund-raising events within school. The Charity Committee are supporting a range of local charities this year, including; Birmingham Children’s Hospital, Birmingham Dogs’ Home, Kat’s Cradle, Combat Stress and Beacon Centre for the Blind.

Recent events have included the annual Santa Run, hot chocolate sales, Australia day and a Krispy Kreme doughnut sale, all of which have been very successful and brought us a step closer to exceeding the £10,000 target this year.

The charity team has been optimistic and enthusiastic throughout weekly meetings, developing a range of ideas and successfully planning these events. Individuals whom have been exceptional members of the team include; Anisha Aujlay, Alexander Gritsay, Elizabeth Harvey, James Richards and Ajay Sharma.

This year we are launching a new and increasingly popular event known as a Colour Run on Saturday 19th March 2016, where individuals have the opportunity to run the TC mile and get covered head to toe in a rainbow of colours, why not? Other upcoming events include Sports Relief day, a Water sports day and the Chilli Challenge.
