Budding young golfers are getting into the swing of the game thanks to an innovative new partnership between Tettenhall College and The South Staffordshire Golf Club.
The School recently launched a golf coaching programme with the support of the club and it is proving very popular. From basic golf skills and putting competitions to health and safety and etiquette, all aspects of the sport are being covered to help pupils develop their golfing ability. They have also had the chance to be taught by professional golfers and pick up some top tips.
James Bullock, Director of Sport, said: “This is the first time we’ve offered expert golf tuition and it’s a great opportunity for our pupils. We’re very pleased to be working with The South Staffordshire Golf Club and the partnership is proving to be very successful.”
The initiative launched in September and has led to a big improvement in pupils’ skills, confidence and knowledge.
