This session includes dragon egg discovery\, shield-making\, magic potions\, and creating dragon fire artwork.\n\nThis session is designed to ensure children feel confident\, comfortable\, happy and familiar in their surroundings here at Tettenhall College\, and to make their September start as exciting as possible. \nWhether your child attended our previous taster session or this is the first one\, we welcome all to attend. DESCRIPTION:Years 7\, 8\, 9 Entrance Assessment\nSaturday 31st January 2026\, 8.30am – 12.30pm \nThe Entrance Assessment Day is for pupils looking to join Tettenhall College in Year 7\, 8 or 9 in September 2026. The Entrance Assessment will take place on Saturday 31st January 2026 and on this day pupils will spend a full morning with us at the school. \nIn groups they will complete the following: \n\nThe formal Entrance Assessment is completed in computer rooms and is an assessment delivered by Cambridge CEM (Centre for Evaluation and Monitoring). The assessments cover literacy\, numeracy and non-verbal reasoning.\nA handwritten creative writing task.\nA carousel of activities that have been carefully designed to allow us to assess teamwork\, listening to instructions\, and how children approach new challenges.\n\nFor assessments for a Sport\, Art\, Music or Performing Arts Scholarship Award\, pupils will be invited to attend an appointment in the week prior to\, or immediately after the Entrance Assessment. \nIf you are applying from overseas\, please speak to the Admissions team and we will be pleased to make arrangements for the Entrance Assessment to be completed in your home country. \nRegistration is essential. You can buy tokens ahead of time and collect at the gate. \nEach inflatable of stall is just 1 token a go\, so mix\, match and make your own adventure. \nA true community event – Share the magic with family\, friends and neighbours as we come together to celebrate our vibrant community. \nImportant information \nWe’d like to inform you in advance that there will be no on-site parking at the event location. Limited parking is available in the village\, just a short walk away. DESCRIPTION:We are thrilled to welcome Ralph Porrett – guitarist\, singer\, and songwriter on the UK jazz scene\, for his first performance at Tettenhall College on Tuesday 6th May 2025\, 7pm! \nKnown for being featured among the five finalists in BBC Young Jazz Musician of the Year 2020 and 2022\, as well as for his melodic guitar improvisation and distinctive songwriting\, Ralph masterfully blends jazz harmony with a singer-songwriter’s storytelling sensibility. For this special performance\, he teams up with drummer and electronic artist Tim Davies to present a stunning collection of brand-new music. \nBiography: \nRalph crafts intricate yet deeply emotive music\, drawing inspiration from artists like Sting\, Bon Iver and Ben Howard. \nA finalist in BBC Young Jazz Musician (2020 and 2022)\, Ralph is the only guitarist to have reached this stage\, performing original compositions at Cadogan Hall and Queen Elizabeth Hall\, both broadcast on BBC Four. His playing fuses the lyricism of Mike Walker and Bill Frisell with the atmospheric depth of contemporary influences such as John Mayer and Mk.gee\, creating a sound world that moves effortlessly between genres. \nRalph’s versatility has led him to perform at the Royal Albert Hall\, Ronnie Scott’s\, and major UK jazz festivals. DESCRIPTION:Years 7\, 8\, 9 Entrance Assessment\nSaturday 25th January 2025\, 8.30am – 12.30pm \nThe Entrance Assessment Day is for pupils looking to join Tettenhall College in Year 7\, 8 or 9 in September 2025. The Entrance Assessment will take place on Saturday 25th January and on this day pupils will spend a full morning with us at the school. \nIn groups they will complete the following: \n\nThe formal Entrance Assessment. This is done in the computer rooms and is an assessment delivered by Cambridge CEM (Centre for Evaluation and Monitoring). The assessments cover literacy\, numeracy and non-verbal reasoning.\nA handwritten creative writing task.\nA carousel of activities that have been carefully designed to allow us to assess teamwork\, listening to instructions\, and how children approach new challenges.\n\nFor assessments for a Sport\, Art\, Music or Performing Arts Scholarship Award pupils will be invited to attend an appointment in the week prior to\, or immediately after the Entrance Assessment. \nIf you are applying from overseas\, please speak to the Admissions team and we will be pleased to make arrangements for the Entrance Assessment to be completed in your home country. \nRegistration is essential. This event is designed for those looking to get the very best experience in Year 12 and 13. You will hear from our dedicated Sixth Form team including Head of Sixth Form\, Jayne Sabio about the academic offering which includes an overview of the diverse range of A Levels\, specialised Pathways Programme and the co-curricular opportunities available. \nYou will also get the opportunity to find out about the exciting opportunities of the wider sixth form programme. This includes learning more about the enrichment programme\, designed to expand on academic and personal interests. Gain enrichment qualifications\, to broaden horizons and skills. Life skills programme\, designed to build essential skills for life beyond school. TC Futures\, focused on careers and university support and sixth form life outside of the classroom which all combined creates a unique Sixth Form experience. \nFurthermore\, we have a special session during the event where students can learn about how to select universities led by guest speaker Jeff Chilton from the University of Aberystwyth. DESCRIPTION:Santa Fun Run – Saturday 14th December 2024- Tettenhall College Pitches\nThis year\, we are thrilled to see the return of Tettenhall College’s Annual Santa Fun Run. \nDust off your Santa suit and join us for a day of festive fun in support of Compton Care. All proceeds raised will go towards helping Compton Care continue the excellent work they do in providing high quality\, accessible care and support for the people in our communities living with life limiting conditions. Your participation can make a real difference! \nOpen to the community\, this event welcomes anyone who is up for some festive fun. Even dogs on leads are welcome. Better yet\, there’s a prize for the best-dressed Santa and best-dressed dog. \nPlease arrive at 10.45am for a prompt 11am start. \nLet’s make this the jolliest event of the season! Bring along friends and family who you’d love to run with and help us spread the holiday cheer! \nRegistration is just £5 per Santa.
