Activities

Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme

The D of E is a popular activity at Tettenhall College and is enjoyed by both girls and boys.

The award runs at three levels: Bronze, Silver and Gold.

We encourage candidates to begin with Bronze at age 14, and continue to Silver (minimum age 15) and then Gold (minimum age 16).

First and foremost, this is a fun activity!

It is not, however, to be taken lightly. Like other activities, it requires regular attendance and a good deal of dedication. Uniquely, though, it demands that something extra!

An ability to work in a team, a willingness to learn new skills and a stubborn refusal to give in when the going gets tough are all-essential. Optional extras include the ability to remain cheerful when lost, cold and/or hungry and an unreasonable desire to keep singing in the rain!
