We actively encourage all children to take
up some form of musical training as an enrichment to their
curriculum studies therefore music lessons are available to
all pupils. All instrumentalists are encouraged to take part
in the various bands, ensembles and choirs
There is an excellent team of ten visiting teachers; the
cost of tuition is currently £117 per term. All pupils in
years 3 through to 5 take part in the Lower School Choir.
The Lower School Special Choir, which performs more difficult
music, is open to anyone in the Lower School, and auditions
are held to get into this choir of approximately 25 singers.
A highlight of the year for the singers is the annual Festival
of Lessons and Carols, held in St.John's Church, Wolverhampton.
All the choirs are joined by guest singers and brass players
for a traditional candlelit service. They work very hard to
produce an evening of highest quality singing with a congregation
of 500 parents and friends.
The Lower School musical production takes place at the end
of the Summer Term and provides the opportunity for many children
to gain their first experience of stage work.
All children experience a wide variety of sports and there
is a busy programme of fixtures against local schools. The
main team games are Soccer, Rugby and Cricket for boys, Netball,
Hockey and Rounders for girls. Our cross-country and swimming
teams regularly achieve local and national recognition. All
pupils in the Lower School are able to use the excellent facilities,
including the Sports Hall, Swimming Pool and playing fields.
