The Curriculum
Every child is encouraged to fulfil his or her potential in small classes where much individual attention is possible. There are frequent assessments of each child’s performance and praise is given for effort as well as achievement.
In Years 3 and 4, the majority of lessons are taught by a form teacher and the emphasis is on the sound acquisition of the Key Skills in Literacy, Numeracy and Science at Key Stage 2. As children move through Years 5 and 6 more specialist teaching takes place, thus preparing them for transfer into Upper School.
Art, Technology, Music and PE are included in every year group's timetable as are Geography, History, Religious Studies and Personal, Social and Health Education. Information and Communication Technology is taught to each form and incorporated in the work of many subjects. There is regular assessment and reporting in line with other sections of the school.
